Siouxland News announces new evening co-anchor: Jen Austin

Siouxland News announces new evening co-anchor: Jen Austin joins Larry Wentz on Siouxland News on KMEG 14 weeknights at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., and weeknights at 9 p.m. on FOX 44.

For immediate release (July 18th, 2014):  Steve Scollard, General Manager of KMEG 14, FOX 44, and This 44.2-Televsion announced today that Jen Austin will be joining the Siouxland News team as evening co-anchor starting Monday, July 21st.

Jen is originally from St. George, Utah, where she worked as morning co-host on Fox News radio. She comes to Sioulxand News most recently from ABC affiliate KIFI in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she was a morning/midday anchor. Jen has worked as a features writer, crime writer, political writer and investigative reporter. She was the sports editor at the Park Record in Park City, Utah, covering pre-Olympic qualifiers and local sports. She later worked as the managing editor for Today in Dixie and executive editor for The Davis County Clipper. In 2010, Jen founded St. George News, the largest online news site in Washington County, Utah.

Jen is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and previous board member for the Utah Headliners Chapter. She is a former board member for CASA and former Mrs. Idaho. She spends her free time helping her children learn the importance of volunteerism.

Prior to becoming a journalist, she served in the United States Air Force as a police officer. She is happily married to her soul mate who is a combat correspondent in the Marine Corps. Together; they are raising two incredible boys.
