Autopsies Performed On Couple From Akron

PLYMOUTH COUNTY, IA -

UPDATE: Autopsies were performed at the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner on the bodies of Esther and Donald Neunaber. The cause of death for Esther Neunaber will be certified as blunt force injuries. Her manner of death is classified as a homicide.  Donald Neunaber's manner of death is pending additional laboratory testing.

Jonathon Neunaber was transported back to Iowa over the weekend, and has not been charged with any crime. He is being held in Plymouth County without bond as a material witness.

PREVIOUS STORY:

44 year old Jonathan Neunaber was arrested by police in La Crosse, Wisconsin on a material witness warrant.

At a court appearance this afternoon he waived extradition, agreeing to return to Plymouth County for questioning. The Plymouth County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double homicide that happened at Neunaber's home near Akron. That's where investigators found the bodies of his parents late Wednesday night, 83-year-old Donald Neunaber and 80-year-old Esther Neunaber. The cause of death has been called a homicide. An autopsy was scheduled for today in Ankeny, but so far we don't have any results.

Neunaber will be held without bond in Wisconsin until Plymouth County deputies take custody of him.
