Gov. Candidate Visits Siouxland News

Posted: Updated:
The democrat who wants to be Nebraska's next governor made a stop in siouxland today.

Chuck Hassebrook lives in Lyons, Nebraska where he served for years as the executive director of the center for rural affairs.

Hassebrook and his newly announced running mate Jane Raybould stopped by the Siouxland News Studios. He believes the pair could bring valuable experience to state government.

Hassebrook said, "you know I'm rural, very knowledgeable about agriculture and rural development. Jane has been involved in governing one of Nebraska's largest cities so she brings some metropolitan background. Jane's a woman, half the voters in Nebraska are women, and I think that brings some balance and perspective to the ticket."

Raybould is the vice president of B&R Stores, which operates Russ's Market and Super Saver stores in seven Nebraska and Iowa communities.

She returned to Lincoln 11 years ago to help run the family business after living in Washington, D.C.
