STORM LAKE, IA - A 3 year old calls 911 and police arrest a man who is accused of sexually assaulting the child's mother.

Early Tuesday morning, Police were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 800 block of Erie Street in reference to a 911 call with an open phone line. When police arrived at the residence the attacker jumped out a second story window and fled.

Police learned that Denis Reyes-Morales, 30 of Storm Lake had allegedly just come to the apartment and knocked on the door. When the female occupant opened the door Reyes-Morales  reportedly entered and attacked the victim. During the assault, the 3 year old child dialed 911.

Police later caught Reyes-Morales at his residence and charged him with burglary 1st degree, sexual abuse 3rd degree and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail.

Storm Lake Police Assistant Chief Todd Erskine says, "The actions of the 3 year old child in dialing 911 during the attack of the mother were extraordinary and no doubt saved additional harm to the victim and her family."

The Victim was transported to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center. The 3 year old child is with a family friend.
