Siouxland Welcomes Spring with Annual Garden Show

Siouxlanders are kicking off spring at the Siouxland Garden Show, which is being held at the Sioux City Convention Center.
Exhibitors from as far away as Ames have come to the 8th annual show. There are classes available to help "not-so green" thumbs, or to inspire new ideas for homeowners' backyards. Some classes also feature "make and take" items that help bring a piece of the show home with you.

This year's theme, "Gardens Make the World Go Round", emphasizes school and community gardens to help bring gardeners together, as well as to experience new things from around the world.
"So we have some speakers too that focus on taking whats been learned globally and bringing it to us here in Sioux City so we have the opportunity to experience things outside our world," said Adrian Jansen with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

The Siouxland Garden Show will be run until Sunday.  The hours are 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. Saturday, and 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Sunday.
