Sioux City Retail Icon Vance Pflanz Passes Away

He was well known for his creative television ads, and he was the "go-to expert" when it came to bringing the best electronic entertainment into the homes of Siouxlanders.
Now, Vance Pflanz has passed away following a battle with cancer.

It all started as a hobby in 1958, when the Belden, Nebraska native began building audio components from kits. That eventually led to repairing those components, and TVs.

The business has grown into an innovative, cutting edge showroom in Sioux City, that includes internet sales. Pflanz had a long association with Sony, and held office with the Consumer Electronics Association.

Vance Pflanz was 75 years old.
