Bowling For a Cause at Rush Lanes This Weekend

SIOUX CITY, IA -

The 9th annual "Bowling For Kids Sake" is happening this weekend at Rush Lanes on Stadium Drive, right next to Lewis and Clark Park.

This event helps raise funds for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Siouxland. Around 200 members of the community and businesses are taking part this year.

Last year, the event raised nearly $50,000 to help Big Brothers, Big Sisters. This year they're hoping to top that.

The proceeds are used to recruit mentors and fund events for more than 360 Siouxland kids.

"People look forward to this event all year round. We start getting emails 6 months out asking 'What's the theme gonna be this year? When's it gonna be?' I mean people get excited.
Whether their business is sponsoring them or sometimes we have families that come out and put a team together. People look forward to it all year round," said Rocky Welker with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Siouxland.

The event is running from now through Saturday. Anyone wanting to get involved with Big Brothers, Big Sisters can call this number: 712-239-9890.
