Fiery Crash on I-29 Leaves Truck Driver Dead

SLOAN, IA -

One man is dead after a semi crash near Sloan this morning.

Just before 10:30 A.M., 58-year-old Moss Ray Pruitt of Forsyth, Missouri drove his semi, hauling a Tyson Foods trailer, off the road and into a tree.

By the time the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol got to Mile Marker 130.5 near Sloan, the entire semi was on fire.

The Interstate was shut down for a few hours because of the smoke, but did eventually reopen.
