Argosy Lawsuit Saga Continues

SIOUX CITY, IA -

A lower court judge has issued another ruling in the battle over gambling rights in Sioux City.

Polk County District Court Judge Robert Hanson has ordered Missouri River Historical Development board member Dave Bernstein, as well as one of MRHD's attorneys, to turn over documents subpoenaed by the Argosy Sioux City riverboat casino and its parent company, Penn National Gaming.

Argosy is suing MRHD, its former partner.  MRHD has now partnered with the new Hard Rock Casino being built downtown by Sioux City Entertainment.

Argosy's suit contends MRHD violated a contract with Argosy.

MRHD and the attorney have argued the documents are covered by attorney - client privilege, but the judge ruled the documents might provide evidence that could be used at trial.

He's ordered Bernstein and the attorney to turn over the documents to Argosy attorneys by Monday.
