Orpheum Offers Free Holiday Movie

SIOUX CITY, IA -

Now that Turkey Day is done, we can officially start moving forward with the next holiday season.

One of the best ways to do that is by watching your favorite holiday movie.

"Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings!"

Those iconic words were spoken at the Orpheum Theatre today. They offered free viewings of the classic "It's a Wonderful Life."

This was the fifth year that the Orpheum partnered with Thrivent Financial to bring the event to the community.

They chose to show this particular holiday classic because of its timeless message of remembering what the holidays are truly about.

"It's sort of the quintessential holiday movie. And one thing I think is really neat about having it the day after Thanksgiving... is you can get so tied up in the Black Friday and the shopping. And it's really wonderful to be able to come down to a beautiful place like the Orpheum with your family and watch a movie that sort of focuses on the meaning of the season," said Di Gray, Director of the Orpheum Theater.

Two viewings were available at 2 this afternoon and 7 this evening.
