SIOUX CITY, IA -
Hospice of Siouxland showed its appreciation for our service members by dedicating a new flag pole.
It's part of their new program called "We Honor Veterans."
The program is designed to recognize the unique needs of these service men and women.
Legion Post 307 from South Sioux City raised the flag and everyone sang the Star Spangled Banner.
There were also military vehicles on display for the crowd to look at.
Hospice chose the flagpole as a way to symbolize its thanks not just for the holiday, but all year round.
"It's a very unique program in which we train volunteers to support and care for veterans that are facing a life-limiting illness," said Linda Todd with the Hospice of Siouxland.
Almost the entire project was made possible by donations.
