North Sioux Fire Dept. Gives to Sioux City Cancer Center

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, IA -

The North Sioux City Fire Department gave $540 dollars to the June E. Nylen cancer center Thursday morning.

Money raised by selling t–shirts, more than 100 since April, in fact.

Firefighter Tim Bell got the idea after talking to people who have had their lives affected by the disease.

"You start finding more and more people and getting to hear their stories and things, it's a lot of fun to sit down and listen to," said Bell. "You feel sorry for them at first, but then you see their spirits and how things like this have really helped them."

Bell says that's why the shirts are still for sale, most sizes cost $15.
