Changes Coming to Sioux City Voting Places

SIOUX CITY, IA -

Voters in Sioux City will see some changes when they go to polls from now on.

Most of Sioux City's schools will no longer be used as voting locations during elections. At one time 13 schools were among polling places, that number is now down to three.

Woodbury County Auditor Pat Gill says most of the schools have been replaced by churches that often have handicapped access.

Gill also says the city has set up 14 "voting centers" that will be used for smaller elections like school board and city council.

Unlike the general election,  he says people can vote at any of the centers  instead of having to cast their ballot at a site within their precinct.
