Hard Rock Casino "On Track" to Open Next Summer

RIVERSIDE, IA -

Also at today's Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission meeting, the owners of the Hard Rock Casino told commissioners everything's on track at the Battery Building.

"What we've effectively got is we've got 100% design drawings or the construction drawings on the site where the structural all of the facility except for just some of the final interior design that's going to happen by the end of this month. So just timeline-wise it always lags and it will get done by the end of the month but we're just working and continuing obviously on that path," said Sioux City Entertainment President Bill Warner

Warner said more than $100 million in financing for construction is secure, just leaving $15 million in anticipated loans for slot machines and casino equipment.

Commissioners approved the Hard Rock's construction contract.

Conlon Construction out of Dubuque is the general contractor, but most of the work will be done by local subcontractors.

The Hard Rock is scheduled to open next July or August.

Work has been underway at the Battery Building for several weeks, but a ceremonial groundbreaking is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
