Siouxland Humane Society Looking for Homes for Cats

SIOUX CITY, IA -

June was adopt a sheltered cat month, but the Siouxland Humane Society is still looking for people to take home a fluffy, new friend.

The Humane Society needs your help to keep up with the growing number of cats, and sending these cuddly felines to a good home is the best way to help.

If you're unable to adopt, they're asking for donations of food and cleaning supplies to help keep up with the high number of furry residents.

"We are completely inundated with cats and kittens right now. We have anything you could be looking for, from teeny tiny on up to older adult and they all need a home," said LaVon Stroh, Director of Development with the Siouxland Humane Society.

The Humane Society recommends having pets spayed or neutered to reduce the population of strays.

They often see an increase in the summertime, when people go on vacations and choose to give up their pets instead of finding sitters and homes.

"We really encourage people to hang in there with their pets. Find someone who will maybe come over to your house, let them out. Try to keep them, try to keep them in their forever home," said Stroh.
