Sioux City Nominated For National Revitalization Initiative

Posted:

(SIOUX CITY, IA) Sioux City has a chance to get a fresh, new look. But it's going to need your vote to do it!

Sioux City is one of more than 100 North American cities being considered for the "Main Street Matters" campaign.

This initiative is sponsored by the Benjamin Moore paint company.  It's helping revitalize and repaint 20 communities across the country.

Voting is done online.  If selected, Sioux City officials will work with residents and business owners to find which areas need the most help.

"The main street title of the initiative promotes our older commercial districts, so obviously we have several of those in Sioux City that we would like to look at for the paint–a–thon program. So we would gather public input and work with those business owners to identify specific areas," Community Development Operations Manager, Jeff Hanson says.

You can vote daily from now until June 30th. Just head to www.PaintWhatMatters.com to participate. Click on the state of Iowa, and cast your vote for Sioux City.
