Siouxland Cancer Prevention Study

Posted:

(SIOUX CITY, IA) Siouxlanders have the next four days to become part of a new, nationwide, groundbreaking study on cancer. In February, the American Cancer Society announced it's looking for 700 people in the tri-state region to take part in the 20 year program. You're eligible if you're between the ages of 30 and 65 and have been clear of most cancers. There will be a questionnaire to fill out, a blood test and you'll have long-term, regular follow ups. Organizers hope the study will shed light on what causes cancer.

Sign up only takes about a half hour. You can sign up at a number of locations around Sioux City:

Wednesday, April 24
10 AM - 2 PM
Mercy Medical Center's Leiter Room

Thursday, April 25
9 AM - 1 PM
Long Lines Family Rec Center

Thursday, April 25
3 PM - 7 PM
June E. Nylen Cancer Center

Friday, April 26

Long Lines Family Rec Center

Saturday, April 27
