(SIOUX CITY, IA) People around Siouxland tuned in to watch the speech.
We talked with folks about the address, and what they hope to see in the next four years.
Although the President covered several issues during his speech, gun control and the economy were the hot button topics that really got people talking.
Margo Chesebro says she's happy with the direction the President is leading America and hopes to see more regulations on firearms.
"I think mandatory checking, and get rid of the massive magazines that are allowed with guns... I am not of that mentality, I've never been around guns, I've never owned one, I believe people have the right to, but it has to be responsible ownership," says Chesebro.
On the other hand, Mike Mahaney says, he thinks the biggest issue in Washington is the deficit.
"I don't think anything is going to change this country until we get our spending under control. Its just out of control, we can't continue to keep spending money we don't have. And you can't tax people enough, to make up the difference they need," says Mahaney.
We reached out on Facebook, asking if people would be watching and we got plenty of responses. Many people said, they simply did not have the time, or had better things to do.
But, Steve Crawford says it's "your duty as an American to know what the President is saying, to oppose or support."
We want to know what you think. Hop onto our Siouxland News Facebook page, and weigh in on the conversation.
