SIOUX CITY, IA -
One day after the Sioux City City Council signed off on the new Liberty Industrial Park, Woodbury County Supervisors have moved ahead with plans to pay for it.
Supervisors approved $1.4 million in bonds to pay for roads near the CF Industries expansion. The bonds will be paid back using the extra tax revenue the county expects Liberty Park will bring in.
"We established what they call an Urban Renewal Area which allows us to issue "TIF" bonds that are paid back from the increase of taxes that will be coming to the county from the new expansion," said Robert Marqusee with Woodbury County Rural Economic Development.
The full development of Liberty Park is a long–term process that will include many public meetings and discussions with Sioux City, Salix and Sergeant Bluff.
