Three Killed In Perry Creek Crash

(SIOUX CITY, IA) - Sioux City Police have released the names of three people killed in a car crash into Perry Creek early Sunday morning.

21-year-old Torey Wickey, 23-year-old Dominique Nok and Matthew Dean, 24, all of Sioux City, were pronounced dead at the hospital after their car ran off the road and landed in Perry Creek.

Early Sunday morning, a car going West on 35th St. ran a stop sign at the intersection with Douglas. It continued across Grandview Boulevard, and after going through someone's yard drove into Perry Creek.

Of the five people in the vehicle, only two were able to get out once it was in the water.

"We have our fair share of fatality accidents and anytime you talk about an accident that involves the water, it just brings another dimension into play. It's not just the traumatic injuries that could be at issue, but it's also the possibility of the water-born injuries, drowning," said Lieutenant Mark Kirkpatrick, Sioux City Police.

Families and friends of the victims have left balloons, flowers and candles along the creek. Police are still looking into the cause of death, but believe alcohol played a part in the crash.
