
(NEAR EARLY, IA) - Law enforcement found a body of an Iowa woman while investigating a suspected kidnapping and attempted sexual assault of another victim.
At about 8 a.m. Thursday morning, Sac County Sheriff's went to Highway 20 and Ira Avenue, two miles west of Early, Iowa to investigate a reported kidnapping. Sheriffs got a call from someone who had run into a 21–year–old woman attempting to get away from a car and claiming she had been kidnapped.
Once law enforcement go to the intersection, they found the victim and figured out the suspect had run away. Sheriffs then found 21–year–old Kirk Riley Levin hiding in a nearby barn.
They arrested him and he faces charges of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, assault while participating in a felony and 3rd degree kidnapping. While investigating the reported kidnapping, authorities found a body of another woman at 2242 Ira Avenue.
Law enforcement is investigating that death as suspicious in nature and a medical examiner will do an autopsy. Officials are withholding the name of the woman who died until they can notify the family.
