SIOUXLAND -
Siouxland was hit with a fresh winter storm today, dropping 3-5 inches of snow across the area and making travel treacherous.
Slick conditions sent drivers slamming into ditches, guard rails and other cars all over the metro this afternoon.
Police were busy helping drivers and clearing up the roadways.
Woodbury County is under a towing ban so drivers either had to abandon their cars or hope an officer could stick around long enough to get their cars pulled to safety.
Both the Woodbury and Plymouth County Sheriff's Departments report that most of their accident calls today didn't report any injuries.
On the other hand, the fresh snow was an opportunity for some parent-child bonding on the sledding hills.
Parents were excited to get out of the house and get some fresh air with their kids while they burn off some energy.
"Definitely during the winter months, it's hard for them to get out and active, and this is one of the things they can do...Grandview has a good size hill, so walking up that's always good for them," said Eric Campbell of Sioux City.
As a friendly reminder, Grandview Park and Sertoma Park are the only designated sledding spots in Sioux City.
