JEFFERSON, SD -
A family of five is counting blessings tonight after a fire destroyed their home.
The Jefferson, South Dakota fire department was called to West Dakota Street around 7:30 this morning.
Someone passing by saw smoke and got the family out of the house.
Two adults and three kids all made it out safely.
The Red Cross is helping them with a place to stay for the night.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
