SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NE -
Ten kids got to "Shop With A Cop" in South Sioux City Tuesday morning and it turns out you can buy quite a few gifts with $1,500 spending money.
All of the cash was donated by local groups and schools picked the children who got to shop.
Six police officers helped those kids buy everything from coffee mugs to tools, even a few toys.
"The kids, of course they were in the toy section here for themselves, buying for themselves," said Master Patrolman Kevin Boneschans with the South Sioux City Police Department. "It was a joy for them, I think they enjoyed it, we as officers enjoyed it. It's a great time to build relationships."
"Shop With A Cop" has been going on in South Sioux City for nearly a decade.
Each kid got a $50 gift card to help buy Christmas dinner, that's a new part of the program this year.
