UPDATE: Manuel Ramirez Memorial Fund

Posted:

(SIOUX CITY, IA) Our Siouxland News exclusive investigation in November 2012 looked into the death of 6-year-old Manuel Ramirez. He died mysteriously in his Sioux City home in March 2011 after taking a bath. But he didn't drown - the medical examiner determined he died of asphyxia and police are now investigating his death as a murder

In that story, we also mentioned how Manuel was buried in Calvary Cemetery with no headstone to mark his grave. After it aired, a number of people contacted us through email and Facebook, concerned about how this little boy was being remembered in death.

So we've set up an account if you'd like to help buy a headstone for Manuel's grave. You can stop by any Security National Bank branch and donate to the Manuel Ramirez Memorial Fund.

And if you missed the full story on Tuesday, November 27th, you can watch the video online at http://www.siouxlandnews.com/story/20179872/burden-of-proof-the-death-of-manuel-ramirez.

It will also air in its entirety on Siouxland News Week, that's Sunday, December 2nd, at 10 PM on KMEG 14.
