(SIOUX CITY, IA) Everyone is looking for a good deal around the holidays, and if Black Friday was a little too crowded for you, then there's always Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving.
From the comfort of your own home, in your Pajamas and slippers, you can snag some great deals online.
A manager at Best Buy here in Sioux City says the company is constantly finding ways to get you the best deal all year round. And if you're strictly a cyber shopper, there are online hubs that compile coupons, deals, websites and more, doing all the work for you.
Coined in 2005, "Cyber Monday" allows you to get those Black Friday deals without ever leaving the comfort of your own home.
"Our phones are just as busy as our sales floor is on a Black Friday," says Best Buy Home Sales Manager, Shannon McCauley.
And the deals are hot, from TVs to tablets, MP3 players and more. When you order online from Best Buy, you can pick up most of the items at the nearest store, which saves the cost of shipping.
Best Buy will also price match just about anything, so, for example, if you find a blue ray disc player online for cheaper than $79.99, bring the competitors price in, and you'll probably be walking out with the item you wanted, at the price you wanted.
"We can plug in a model number, and see what Sears has it at, what Lowe's has it at, what Home Depot has it at, what Barnes & Noble has it at," says McCauley.
And you can price match items yourself, www.Bradsdeals.com compiles coupons and deals from all over the Internet every day, and the best holiday gifts end up on www.Cybermonday2012.com.
"We sift through thousands of sales and promotions and coupons and offers, and only publish to best 100 or so for our readers," says Owner, Brad Wilson.
And, as always, if you decide to shop online, the Better Business Bureau suggests you create a budget and stick to it, don't fall for the "too good to be true" deal, make sure your computer has the most recent updates for spam filters, anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and use a credit card instead of a debit card, so you can dispute items if you don't receive them.
The Better Business Bureau has a website that lists all the latest scams and common tactics used by scam artists both in-person and online. Just visit: http://www.bbb.org/scam-stopper.
