Batman Takes Over Sioux City

Posted:

(SIOUX CITY, IA) Sioux City, move over, Gotham City is taking over, for a few nights. Batman, Robin, Cat woman and the Joker are about to duke it out on stage for the first time in Siouxland.

It's certainly an event we've heard a lot about over the last few weeks, and the cast and crew are expecting a great turnout.

We got a sneak peek of the show and you don't want to miss it.

"I kind of start the show by coming up and stand on stage on my own, and looking out on the audience, and so they really give you that buzz. And throughout the show, you know all the different things that happen, you always, I always feed off the audience," says Batman star, George Turvey.

The other actors agree, feeding off the crowd is what motivates them, as well as the gratification that comes from bringing this American tale of heroism back to the states. That's because they performed this in the U.K., Latin America, and Europe before bringing it across the pond.

"Every single city that we go to, we have a difference response, and the enthusiasm over here. I love this country, I just think it's a real privilege to be here," says Catwoman actress, Emma Clifford.

Mark Frost, the actor who plays "The Joker" talked about the actors, like Heath Ledger, that came before him, and the emotionality that goes into playing a character of this nature.

"With film you can sort of, I guess, potentially take bigger risks with your own welfare, if you like, and that you only have to do it once, its one take, if you can get into character, you can perhaps go further with it. With this, you have to do it night after night, so you have to be a little bit more careful with your own welfare, both physically, emotional and mental," Says "the Joker", Mark Frost.

"Its great, when the Joker comes on, you hear boo, or actually you hear people go yea, because they love the characters so much, and that's what's wonderful about it," says Clifford.

"I hope that they feel like they've kinda been immersed in the world of Batman, immersed in Gotham City, that they really feel like they are apart of the show," says Frost.
