(CARROLL, IOWA) - The newly formed Iowa Fourth Congressional District goes to Steve King after defeating Christie Vilsack Tuesday night.
Christie Vilsack was hoping to become the first woman to represent Iowa in Congress, but it wasn't meant to be this election.
Once Steve King heard the news, he already started talking about how he'll handle the position this time around.
"There will be no slacking off on this job. A job that looks like it's harder now than it might have been given some of the returns around the country. That means we re-double our effort. We quadruple our effort. I see your faces and I know that I have that charge to stand-up for the things that we all believe in," said King.
"I accept the results of the election and I commend Congressman King for his win in this hard-fought fight, but I don't think this win needs to fuse his device of common sense and his inattention," said Vilsack.
