(SIOUX CITY IA) Ahead of his trip to Charlotte, North Carolina, President Obama paid Sioux City a visit Saturday.
He focused on top issues including education, the economy and creating jobs in front of the crowd of nearly 3 thousand people. But he also made a few comments about the Republican National Convention that wrapped up last week.
"It will be you Iowa who is going to make all the difference in the world in this upcoming election," President Obama said.
That's because President Obama says four years ago, his campaign for "Change" started right here in Iowa, and come November, he says every single vote is going to matter in his fight to move "forward". The President took a swipe at the speeches that came out of the Republican national convention.
"They were going so far backwards you might as well have watched it on a black and white T. V. Put some rabbit ears on the convention hall. Now in case you didn't DVR it, let me give you a simple recap: The economy's not where it needs to be, and its Obama's fault, and only Mitt Romney knows the secret to creating jobs and growing the economy," he said.
He touched on Education, creating jobs and building back the economy, and as far as the Affordable care act, well he's adopted a new term.
"They call it Obamacare, I like that name, because I do care," he said.
And Sioux City Obama Supporters responded overwhelmingly to the President's speech.
"I'm really really proud of his support for gay marriage, and equality there, that's a big issue for me, and I'm really proud of him for that," Obama supporter, Nicholas Arreola, said.
"The need to continue funding education, that's important to me as a professor, and I also thought that support wind industry, and renewable energy in Iowa was really important for us," said Morningside Professor, Patrick Blaine.
And President Obama says, his work is not finished.
"We've got more good jobs to create. We've got more homegrown energy to generate. We've got more young people to send to great colleges like this one, we've got more great teachers we need to hire," President Obama said.
A list that Obama hopes to carry out for the next four years.
