COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA -
President Obama made the first of several stops in Iowa Monday morning, meeting a crowd of thousands in Council Bluffs.
"We'll remind the world why the United States of America is the greatest nation on Earth," said President Obama.
And those thousands? They were lining up more than three hours before the 11:30 speech, many on a mission.
"I'm here to keep the crazy people out of the White House," said Steve Saldzman, an Obama supporter from Walnut, Iowa. "That's why I'm here
But supporters weren't the only ones in the crowd.
"Everybody's fired up about Paul Ryan," said Tom Szold, Republican National Committee's Victory Communications Director in Iowa. "He's a good solid conservative and he's got a lot of good ideas as to how to get the country back on track."
The President's plans to build jobs and the economy fired up the crowd.
"We do not need more tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, we need tax relief for working families," said President Obama.
And those supporters seem to agree with the President's work on the economy so far.
"It was messed up before he got in, now it's on his watch he's trying to help," said Debbie Betts, an Obama supporter from Council Bluffs. "He's the only good choice, because otherwise we're going to go back to what we had."
