Blair Smith is known as the "Hopecarver". He's been creating these timber transformations for years now.
"I had seen other people do it, and it was just out of curiosity.," he said.
Blair began creating smaller pieces for his wife, and it wasn't long before he discovered his new passion.
"I believe everybody deserves to be good at something, and this is what I'm really good at. You have to love it, because it's physically really demanding, its not only physically really demanding, but my brain runs a thousand miles an hour, because I'm trying to think what its going to look like when its done," he said.
From logs like these, to perfectly carved masterpieces. But not all of his creations are planned out.
Blair says one of the pieces of artwork was an accident, he was working on another wood carving when a block of wood fell off and landed on the ground. When he looked at it, he decided to carve it. It's become his favorite chainsaw sculpture.
Blair says he's gotten better with time, and this year it's paying off.
"I got invited to the national chainsaw carving championship. So I'll be going to that, in a week," he said.
