SIOUX CITY, IA -
He's one of the most brilliant minds the world has ever known, from inventor to painter, Leonardo da Vinci did it all.
From flying machines, to war machines, to paintings, Leonardo da Vinci did it all and then some.
"It's pretty exciting to see how somebody's wild imagination at one point in time can become a reality way after his own lifetime," said Todd Behrens, Curator of the Sioux City Art Center.
Who could forget a face like Mona Lisa's?
There probably isn't a person alive who doesn't recognize the painting, and now you have a chance to see Mona Lisa herself, right in Sioux City.
To be fair, it's not the real Mona Lisa, it's a to-scale reproduction, but all of these are the best reproductions you can find anywhere.
"To actually see the 23 paintings that are being reproduced here you would have to go to 11 different countries," said Al Harris-Fernandez, Director of the Sioux City Art Center.
On top of all that, a lot of the displays are interactive.
It's a look at one of the most brilliant minds and active imaginations the world has ever known, and who knows? You might even learn something.
"Nobody really knew he was working on robotics until we caught up with him nearly 500 years after the fact," said Behrens.
Can our fearless climber friend actually make it to the top of this wall?
That's something you're just going to have to see for yourself.
The Leonardo da Vinci exhibit runs from July 14th through October 14th.
You'll have to pay to get into the da Vinci exhibit, it's $10 for adults.
The rest of the art center, and the other exhibits, will still be open and free.
