A Sheldon, Iowa musician is about to hit the big time, emerging from the town of just 5,000 people with his amazing voice. Alex Jaymes has officially sung his way into the hearts of producers looking for the next big superstar, and for this Siouxlander, the sky is the limit.
You may have heard of Justin Bieber.
But what about Alex Jaymes?
Bieber, and Jaymes have something in common: Youtube. That's right, just like Bieber, Alex was discovered after he covered Justin's song, Born to be somebody, on Youtube.
What happened next came as a big surprise.
"It was probably not a week later, that his producer Diane Warren saw the song, on YouTube, and kinda picked it as her favorite cover," Jaymes said.
After that, things started moving very fast. Jaymes got hooked up with well known producer Michael Blue, who also produces for stars like Colbie Caillet, and Carrie Underwood.
Jaymes says after he graduated High school. He didn't know which path to take, when it came to reaching his dream.
"There was record labels that were wanting to work with me in Detroit, when I was at a national competition there, so it was kinda deciding, what I wanted to do, I got an invitation from NBC's the Voice, to be on that show, before this happened, it was kinda of like, what should I do, what route should I take. It's clear now," he said.
Crystal Clear, in fact, MTV is releasing a teaser video with a snippet of Jaymes first single, "Ill write you a song." And for the future, Jaymes is dreaming big.
"Just to be at that place, I think it would be very humbling and very, I'd be very appreciative of everybody that would support me along the way. I wouldn't take it for granted," he said.
And his final request? To meet Just Bieber himself. So Justin, if you're watching, give Alex a call.
