PONCA, NE -
Bucking broncos, bulls and plenty of cowboys, it's not the wild west it's just Ponca, Nebraska.
Hundreds of folks packed into Ponca Friday night for the annual "Days of '56" rodeo, one of the only PRCA rodeos around.
You might have noticed a lot of pink the crowd, that color was for a reason. Friday was "tough enough to wear pink" night at the rodeo.
A portion of all the proceeds raised are going to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center.
"One thing about breast cancer: it affects everybody either directly or indirectly, everybody knows somebody that has been affected by this disease," said rodeo announcer Travis Schauda. "We want to raise money for early detection, for awareness, for prevention, for treatment, and just help those in need."
If you missed out Friday night, don't worry, the action returns again Saturday, June 23rd for part two of the rodeo, as well as a parade Saturday morning.
