SIOUX CITY, IA -
Sioux City Police are still looking for a man who they say attempted to assault two young girls three weeks ago.
Sioux City Police received an anonymous call
on May 25th through Crimestoppers. The caller describes seeing a white
Dodge Charger, with Nebraska plates, in Sergeant Bluff.
First, a recap:
A man was seen performing a lewd act on the
1100 block of West 4th Street in the early morning hours of May 25th.
Just a short time later, he was reported miles away, after he broke into
a home on Wall Street, and tried to sexually assault a young girl.
The story gets even more bizarre, because a
little later he was reported again at a home off South Alice, and the
M.O. was the same.
The second victim's mother, who didn't want to be seen on camera, recalls that morning.
"We were woken up by the most scariest
scream, and I have ever heard my daughter scream like that ever, and
when we met with her, I thought she was having a bad dream, I never once
imagined in my life that some man was coming through my window," she
said.
A nightmare for most parents, their daughter was awakened by a man who attempted to sexually assault her.
"They tried to find fingerprints, they did
their job and I haven't heard from them since. I don't know if there has
been any leads or any tips or anything," she said.
Her family is still searching for answers, and so are police.
"We released information about a suspect
description and basically pleaded with the public for their help in
contacting the police department with any information," said Public
Information Officer Chad Sheehan.
The Sioux City Police Department is asking
the person who called Crimestoppers to call them directly. The caller
can remain anonymous, but police would like to speak with him or her. If
you have any information on the suspect, police are asking that you
call Detective Mike Simons. His number is 712-279-6379.
DESCRIPTION OF SUSPECT:
Very tall, thin black male. He is believed to
be taller that 6 foot 4 inches. He was dressed in all dark clothing
with his face partially covered.
