SIOUX CITY, IA -
Construction work is underway for a new medical center in Sioux City.
St. Luke's Sunnybrook Medical Plaza will offer a variety of outpatient services in a convenient Morningside location. The 86,000 square foot building will host obstetrics, an urgent care clinic, lab facilities and much more.
"The idea is have better, robust home services and outpatient services, to help patients stay healthy longer, and this new facility is part of that mix," said Vice President for Clinics and Network Development Chad Markham.
The hospital's president says relocating these services will ease the strain at their main branch, and give patients a more convenient location to visit.
"We want to serve the community and make sure that outpatient care in the future is delivered efficiently and effectively at an outpatient facility like this, rather than expecting everybody to come to the hospital campus and get that care, or a smaller location where we might not be able to put as many services together," said Peter Thoreen.
The new building will be ready for patients by next summer.
