SIOUX CITY, IA -
A group of homeowners in need is about to meet some very special visitors.
One hundred kids known as the World Changers will descend on Sioux City over the next week.
They'll be helping disabled, elderly and low-income homeowners with everything from new roofing and windows to decks and siding.
Each year the World Changers spend their own money to travel the country and volunteer their time.
"It's amazing what happens. At the end of the week, you'll see a lot of tears from these homeowners, because they don't want the kids and adults to leave them, so they really get into their lives and touch them, and it's a great program, we're excited about it," said Construction Coordinator Dave Guggenmos.
Sioux City's Neighborhood Services Division will contribute $30,000 to help pay for the nine projects on the World Changers' list.
