SIOUX CITY, IA -
Wednesday night's rain is causing one Siouxland historical site to close shop for a short time.
The Milwaukee Railroad Shops in Sioux City got around two inches of rain Wednesday night.
That, along with runoff from the Loess Hills across the road, caused quite a bit of water to pool up.
The whole site will need a few days to dry out, but luckily nothing was damaged.
"The buildings are brick and the floors are concrete and we don't have a lot of exhibits sitting directly on the floor that can be damaged, just for that," said Matt Merk, Executive Director of the Milwaukee Railroad Shops. "You never know."
Crews are using the down time to do some work on the site.
If you'd like to check out the railroad shops, everything should open back up at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 30th.
