Siouxland Aging Services Holds Shredding Event

SIOUX CITY, IA -

A Siouxland organization is helping seniors fight identity theft.

Siouxland Aging Services held its 3rd annual "shred–tastic" event today, safely disposing of papers like tax records and bank statements, anything that puts personal information into the wrong hands.

"Even if you have a shredder at home, when you start going through and finding tax records from more than 7 years ago, that's a pretty hefty stack of documents, so it prevents that shredder overload and keeps your shredder working much longer, but more importantly, it gets those papers out of the house," said Chris Kuchta with Siouxland Aging Services.

Within the first half hour, more than fifty people had already brought in documents to shred.
