Romney Holds Riverfront Rally During Omaha Campaign Stop

OMAHA, NE -

Taking America Back: that was Mitt Romney's message to a crowd in Omaha Thursday.

The former Massachusetts Governor made a stop in the "Cornhusker State" to promote his agenda, if elected president, to a standing room only crowd.

"What a beautiful day," said Romney. "Is it always like this in Nebraska?"

Mitt Romney spoke to a crowd of more than one hundred in Omaha Thursday afternoon on a campaign stop after a fundraiser there earlier in the day in his honor.

Romney says it was the biggest political fundraiser in the state's history.

The Massachusetts Governor and likely Republican Presidential nominee didn't speak long, laying out his plans for America's future.

He says he'll stop President Obama's Health Care Reform Plan and gain American energy independence with local oil and natural gas, while putting a stop to what he calls President Obama's out of control spending.

"His policies are a throwback to the liberal ideas of the past. They sure haven't worked in the last four years and they're not going to work in the future," said Romney. "You see, these old liberals thought that you could spend and spend and spend and borrow without consequence."

The crowd was so full of supporters, not all of them could fit inside.

"I think we saw the next President of the United States right there," said Jim Jeffers, a Romney supporter from Lincoln, Nebraska. "If this country is half as enthused as I am about what I saw today, he is the next President of the United States."

Even though Romney is considered the Republican front-runner, the actual Republican Presidential nominee won't be picked until the Republican National Convention in late August.

Romney didn't comment on President Obama's support of gay marriage.
