Video of portfolio managers on the road visiting companies in frontier and emerging markets.
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) May 09, 2012
In an effort to raise awareness of the new Wasatch Frontier Emerging Small Countries Fund (WAFMX) and all of its no-load mutual funds, Wasatch Funds has launched a new Wasatch YouTube channel and is now running national radio ads highlighting the investment opportunity in frontier and emerging markets.
Video footage of Portfolio Managers Ajay Krishnan, Laura Geritz, and the Wasatch team of equity analysts visiting several frontier and emerging markets is now posted to Wasatch’s new YouTube channel. The new channel includes a 3-minute, fast-paced, music video* of Geritz recent visit to Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh with Senior Analyst Andrey Kutuzov. Footage of Ajay Krishnan, Portfolio Manager of Wasatch Emerging India Fund (WAINX), is also featured in the video titled “On the Road with the Wasatch Funds Research Team.” (Link to the video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/wasatchfundstv).
Said Gene Podsiadlo, Wasatch Director of Mutual Funds, “Our new frontier emerging small countries fund is truly a unique fund -- one of the few no-load, open-end mutual funds focused on frontier and smaller emerging markets. We wanted to raise awareness of the investment opportunity by showing the tough, on-the-ground work our portfolio managers and analysts do in researching and visiting these companies. Trips like these are happening almost every day at Wasatch and are integral to our investment process.”
The Wasatch Frontier Emerging Small Countries Fund (WAFMX) was launched January 31st and began a wider roll out in March with the addition of the Fund to the Schwab, Fidelity and TD Ameritrade platforms.
Said Podsiadlo, “This fund complements our existing Wasatch Emerging Markets Small Cap and Emerging India Funds. We want to make sure investors seeking exposure to frontier and emerging markets know about Wasatch. We’ve tried to offer helpful research online to help investors better understand our investment approach and the opportunity in these markets.” Wasatch has posted two white papers on frontier markets and small cap emerging markets investing.
Wasatch is also running radio ads on CNBC and Bloomberg Radio highlighting the investment opportunity (created and produced by DB+R Boston). The radio ads can also be heard on the new Wasatch YouTube channel.

Investing in small cap funds will be more volatile and loss of principal could be greater than investing in large cap or more diversified funds. Investing in foreign securities, especially in frontier and emerging markets, entails special risks, such as unstable currencies, highly volatile securities markets and political and social instability, which are described in more detail in the prospectus. Being non-diversified, WAFMX and WAINX can invest a larger portion of its assets in the stocks of a limited number of companies than a diversified fund. Non-diversification increases the risk of loss to the Fund if the values of these securities decline.
An investor should consider investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses carefully before investing. To obtain a prospectus, which contains this and other information, click here or call 800.551.1700. Please read it carefully before investing.
