SIOUX CITY, IA -
Sioux City is kicking off its annual Historic Preservation Week, which celebrates the architecture in the area.
The Sioux City Public Museum is hosting an exhibit featuring the influential architect William Steele, whose work can still be seen downtown at the Williges and Davidson buildings, as well as the historic Woodbury County Courthouse.
"A lot of the classic buildings that we have downtown and around other parts of town come from the period when Steele was working here in town, if he didn't do it, people who were working at the same time were inspired by him," said the Sioux City Public Museum's Matt Anderson.
Historic Preservation Week continues through Saturday, and includes a variety of presentations and tours.
