
What was once a temporary shutdown now looks to be permanent.
Dakota Dunes-based Beef Products Inc. announced today that it will close of three of its four plants effective later this month.
According to Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad, BPI's plans to permanently close three plants will affect 600 employees, including 200 at the plant in Waterloo, Iowa.
The company's plant in South Sioux City has continued to stay open since the company announced its cutbacks in March, and looks to remain open in light of this news.
