South Sioux Police Searching For Car in Missouri River

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NE -

Police in South Sioux City are looking into a possible car in the Missouri River.

Tammy Koerselman says her husband called the police after he saw car tracks leading into some brush along the riverbank.

Koerselman says officers pulled out a license plate matching a Minnesota car that was reported stolen late last week.

There was no sign of a car.

"The bushes are quite large, and figured they stopped, backed up, and left, but there's no one that backed up, they went over the edge," Koerselman said.

Police have been looking for signs the car may be in the water, but at this time they haven't gone into the river to look for the vehicle.
