SIOUX CITY, IA -
Siouxland Community Health Center received a $1.3 million grant from the Department of Health and Human Services.
It's one of 5 Iowa organizations getting the funding, which is slated to improve facilities and equipment.
Here in Sioux City, the plan is to expand the lobby and walk–in clinic, accommodating more patients.
"We're almost at a point where we are at capacity, so this opportunity really allows us the capacity to continue to grow our numbers and continue to see the people that walk through our doors," said Siouxland Community Health CEO Michelle Stephan.
The center has seen a 37% increase in patient use since moving into its new building in 2009.
