SIOUX CITY, IA -
The crash happened early Sunday morning on Sioux City's west side.
Police say the cyclist was riding down Sixth Street when he got hit by a southbound truck coming down West Street.
According to officers, the driver of that truck continued driving with the cyclist and his bike underneath the truck for 150 feet.
The biker broke loose, then the driver ran over him again, leaving the victim lying in the road with broken bones.
The cyclist, William Kammerer, was in critical condition yesterday.
Doctors at Mercy Medical Center say he improved to serious condition today.
Police say they found the driver and his truck nearby.
21 year old Fernando Garcia is charged with leaving the scene of a crash, failure to yield, and driving without insurance.
