SIOUX CITY, IA -
It's official, Bishop Heelan is getting a new school.
Leaders of the Pride Campaign of Bishop Heelan High School announced at this weekend's "Heelan Auction" that they've reached their $7.5 million goal.
That means the school will break ground on Phase 1 this fall.
The planned construction of the new high school will include a new performing arts theater and updated classrooms, among other additions.
School officials are still finalizing construction plans.
The day for the formal groundbreaking event will be determined at a future date and the building is projected to be open in 2014.
