Ted Erekson’s “My Boy Jesus” explores the depths of love and courage found in Mary’s husband.

“He had settled down and looked up at me. I felt His warmth and worried that my work worn hands would offend His tender skin . . . until His tiny fingers wrapped around the edge of my hand and He fell asleep. I handed Him to Mary and she held Him close to her breast. I was His father and He would be my boy! My joy was extreme. Jesus had come into my life like He would come into no others.”

“All people can relate to one aspect or another of the tender experience between and father and a son. The illustrations are warm, tender, and full of emotion and very personal,” says Erekson.

Inspired by his own family life – the love of his wife and the presence of their three children – Erekson wanted to explore what it must have been like for Joseph. “I have always thought about Joseph and the strength and courage and love he had to have to be the stepfather of Jesus Christ.”
