(SIOUX CITY, IA) A building project gets a firm foundation today, all for a good cause.
Habitat for Humanity poured the basement to prepare for their annual Home Builders' Blitz.
Hundreds of volunteers and contractors will build a new home in Sioux City's Riverside neighborhood in just one week. The site of the home is one of 14 lots on a former school site, gradually being transformed into a family neighborhood.
"All the one behind me, the seven houses are all Habitat homes, this will be the 8th, and of course, hopefully we can, over the next two or three years, we should be able to fill in the other six," said Mark Custer, Executive Director of Siouxland Habitat for Humanity.
Construction on this new home will begin this June.
