Sioux City Encourages Local Tourism

SIOUX CITY, IA -

(SIOUX CITY, IA) If golfing isn't quite your thing, Sioux City has plenty of other things to offer.

As part of National Tourism Week, which begins next Saturday, the city is encouraging residents to become a "tourist in their own town."

Residents will soon receive a "passport" in with their utility bills.

Then just visit any 10 of the 16 locations on the list and have your passport stamped to be eligible for prizes ranging from a gift certificate to Eldon's to a free night stay at the Stoney Creek Inn.

"We included a blank spot for people to visit their favorite Sioux City park, and then they can get their passport stamped at the parks and recs department at the long lines family rec center, so we're excited about promoting our parks as well, it's a great spot for a lot of people to spend some time with their kids, and we wanted to promote that destination as well," said Convention Bureau Manager Erika Newton.
